State of the Community 13/10/2017

These blogs are supposed to be weekly. I released the last one at the same time that our site went live – on a Monday. Gross! I’ve decided that Friday’s are better. No real reason, except that it seems like a great day to talk about the happenings in the community. After all, everyone likes good news before the weekend!

Since our new website launched, we’ve begun to see activity on our forums, as well as more recruits to the community. That’s awesome, but there’s still so much work to do. Hopefully in the coming weeks, and the coming months, we can get our forum active to the point where we’d like to have it. It’s a great place to place information – a lot better than Discord. On Discord, information usually gets lost. On a forum, it won’t get buried. It’ll always be there, immortalized forever, or, at least until it falls off the front page.

Season 11 of Diablo is ending – and not a moment too soon. The shine of the necromancer and Season 11 has worn off. People started to get tired of the game, started to play other things, but now Season 12 is on the horizon. We expect more players to join The Nameless during the month leading to the new season, and we expect to go into it strong. I’m extremely excited to see the next chapter for our community, and to meet more awesome people. Season 11 already brought great members into the community, I can only imagine what Season 12 will bring.

We’ve changed the focus of our WoW guild. Recruiting has been a pain, maybe in part because I cannot be in voice during the evening and so it’s difficult to retain new members there when I can’t be online as much as I’d like – however the guild is not gone. It’ll remain there, active, for The Nameless members who’d like to have a place to join and play casually.

WildWolf, a Community Manager in The Nameless and GM of our SWTOR Division, is working hard on getting our Star Wars guild off the ground. We’re working hard on building a strong foundation for the guild and getting more people that we always have members on for this specific game no matter the time zones people are in. Hopefully if recruitment goes well, we will start raiding in a few weeks.

Play something other than our main games? That’s not a problem at all. Join us anyway! We’re building a multi-gaming community here at The Nameless, and having gamers from all backgrounds is something we thrive for. And who knows, maybe in the future we’ll have a Division in whatever game you play!

-Seronic, Community Lead.
